Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Sunday
Plain terms for a plain product. This page says what you can expect from Sunday, what we ask of you, and how the money works.
Before public release
Sunday is in private testing. Three things here still need settling before it ships publicly: the legal entity that operates Sunday and enters this agreement, the governing law and venue in section 15, and the effective date. Everything else describes the product as it actually works today.
1. The short version
- Sunday helps you organize an aging parent's records. It doesn't practise medicine and it isn't an emergency service.
- Your family's data is yours. We don't sell it, and we don't claim to own it.
- Care+ is $14.99 a month or $149 a year, billed by Apple, covering your whole circle. Cancel it in your Apple settings.
- AI can be wrong. Check anything that matters against the original document.
- You can leave whenever you want, and delete your account from inside the app.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By creating a Sunday account or using the app, you're agreeing to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with them, please don't use Sunday.
3. Who can use Sunday
You must be at least 18. You need to give accurate information when you sign up and keep your password to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at help@sundaycare.app if you think someone else has got into it.
Sunday is currently in private testing and is not generally available.
4. What Sunday is, and what it isn't
Sunday is a tool for organizing information. It keeps records, reads documents you give it, and answers questions from what you've stored.
Sunday is not:
- A medical service. It doesn't diagnose, interpret symptoms or test results, recommend or change doses, or give medical advice. Nothing in Sunday is a substitute for a conversation with a clinician who knows your parent.
- A medication tracker. Sunday keeps a list of medications. It does not track doses taken, does not send pill reminders, and will not tell you whether anyone took anything. That's a deliberate design decision.
- A clinical assessment tool. The care-level estimate in the planning workspace is for budgeting and planning. It is not a medical assessment.
- An emergency service. Sunday is not monitored and cannot summon help. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
- A HIPAA-covered service. Sunday is not a covered entity or a business associate under HIPAA, and we don't sign business associate agreements. See the Privacy Policy for what that means.
- A directory or a referral service. The planning workspace holds communities you add and math you can check. Sunday isn't paid to send you anywhere, and doesn't recommend providers.
5. Your circle
Sunday works around a care circle: a group of people sharing one parent's record. Whoever sets it up is the organizer.
- Inviting someone gives them access to the record at the role you choose — family, caregiver or viewer. Invite links expire after seven days.
- Anyone with an editing role can add, change and delete parts of the record. Choose roles with that in mind.
- The record belongs to the circle, not to whoever created it. If you leave or delete your account and other members remain, the record stays with them. What you contributed stays too, with your name removed. That's the whole point of a shared record, and you should be comfortable with it before you invite anyone.
- A circle can hold up to two care recipients.
- Your weekly check-in answers and your Ask Sunday conversations are private to you. No one else in the circle can read them, including the organizer.
6. What you put into Sunday
Your content stays yours. We don't claim ownership of it. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, show it to the people in your circle, send documents and record summaries to our AI provider so they can be read or answered, and back it up.
We will not use your family's data to train AI models, and we will not sell it or share it for advertising.
Most of what you enter is about someone else. By entering it you're confirming that you have that person's permission or the legal authority to act for them. Sunday can't check that, and it's on you.
Please keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose. Sunday is a convenience, not a system of record for legal or medical purposes.
7. What you may not do
- Use Sunday for anyone whose information you have no right to hold.
- Try to reach another family's data, or probe the service for ways to do so. (Found a hole? Tell us — see section 16.)
- Use Sunday to make medical decisions without a clinician, or present its output as medical advice to anyone else.
- Upload malware, or try to break, overload or work around the service's limits.
- Resell Sunday, or use it to run a service for families you have no relationship with.
- Scrape the service, or use it to build a competing product.
8. Care+
Sunday's core is free. Care+ is a paid plan that covers the whole circle.
| Free | Care+ | |
|---|---|---|
| Ask Sunday | 5 questions per person per calendar month | Unlimited |
| Appointment reminders | One, the day before | More than one, at lead times you choose |
| Email documents in | — | The family's own address |
Price. $14.99 per month, or $149 per year. One plan covers everyone in the circle.
Billing. Care+ is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple takes the payment, and payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Sunday never sees your card details.
Renewal. The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the period.
Cancelling. Manage or cancel in your Apple settings: on your iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sunday. Deleting your Sunday account does not cancel your subscription — cancel with Apple first, or Apple will keep billing you.
Refunds. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple under Apple's policies, not by us. We can't issue refunds for them. If something went wrong, write to us anyway — we'll help you sort it out with Apple.
When a plan lapses. Nothing is deleted. Ask Sunday goes back to five questions a month, appointment reminders go back to one the day before, and mail sent to your family's Sunday address waits in the queue rather than being filed — it isn't discarded. Everything already in the record stays exactly where it is.
Whose plan is it. The entitlement belongs to the circle; the billing belongs to the Apple Account that bought it. If that person leaves the circle, the family keeps Care+ until the period ends, and the person who bought it keeps being billed until they cancel with Apple. Sort that out among yourselves before it becomes awkward.
Fair use. Ask Sunday has a ceiling of 50 messages per person per day on every plan — a question and its answer are two, so roughly 25 exchanges. It's an abuse guard, not a feature tier, and ordinary use won't come near it.
Price changes. If we change the price we'll tell you before it affects you, and Apple will ask for your consent where its rules require it.
9. AI, and what you can rely on it for
Sunday uses AI to read documents and to answer questions from your record. It's genuinely useful and it is genuinely fallible.
- A reading taken off a photograph can misread a digit, a name or a date. Sunday shows you every reading before it saves anything — that confirmation step is yours, and it matters.
- Ask Sunday answers from what's stored. If something isn't in the record, it says so rather than guessing — but no model is perfect at that.
- Check anything consequential — a member ID, a dose, a date, an amount — against the original document. Sunday keeps the original for exactly that reason.
- Nothing Sunday generates is medical advice, legal advice or financial advice.
10. Email documents in
Care+ families get a Sunday email address. Anyone who knows it can send mail to it, so Sunday treats it carefully: mail files automatically only from senders your circle already trusts, and everything else waits for one of your editors to approve or discard it. Sunday accepts up to 20 messages an hour per family, stores at most ten attachments per message at up to 8 MB each, and stores attachment contents only for file types it can actually read. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
Keep the address to people you'd trust with your parent's paperwork. If it gets out, tell us and we'll issue a new one.
11. Availability
We'll try to keep Sunday running and we can't promise it always will be. Sunday depends on services we don't control — Apple, our hosting and AI providers, your phone network — and any of them can have a bad day.
Sunday is under active development. Features change, and some may be removed. If we retire something you rely on, we'll tell you in the app first. If we ever shut Sunday down, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
Appointment reminders are scheduled by your own phone. If notifications are off, if the phone is off, or if the app has been removed, the reminder won't arrive. Don't rely on Sunday as the only reminder for something that matters.
12. Ending it
You can stop using Sunday whenever you like, and delete your account from Settings → Delete account. What that does — and one thing it doesn't yet do — is in section 10 of the Privacy Policy. Read it before you tap it; deletion can't be undone.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 7, or where we're required to. Except in serious cases, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
13. No warranty
Sunday is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that Sunday will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anything it reads or generates will be accurate.
Some places don't allow these exclusions. Where that's true, they don't apply to you.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sunday and the people who make it are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or any harm arising from decisions made in reliance on information in or generated by Sunday.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Sunday is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.
Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some places don't allow these limits; where that's true, they don't apply to you.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction identified in the notice at the top of this page, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of that place. Nothing in this section takes away any right you have to bring a claim where you live, if the law where you live gives you that right.
16. Changes, and how to reach us
When these terms change we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant. Carrying on using Sunday after a change means you accept it. If you don't, you can delete your account.
Questions, problems, or a security issue you'd like to report: help@sundaycare.app. If it's a security issue, please give us a reasonable chance to fix it before telling anyone else.
